Prelims — General Studies Paper I

  • Current events of national and international importance
  • History of India and the Indian National Movement
  • Indian and World Geography — physical, social and economic geography
  • Indian Polity and Governance — Constitution, political system, Panchayati Raj, public policy and rights issues
  • Economic and Social Development — sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics and social-sector initiatives
  • Environmental ecology, biodiversity and climate change
  • General Science

Prelims — General Studies Paper II (CSAT)

  • Comprehension
  • Interpersonal and communication skills

Mains — Qualifying Papers

Mains — Optional Subject

One optional subject is chosen from the UPSC-prescribed list and is examined through two papers. Choose the subject only after reviewing the current notification and your academic strengths.

Personality Test

Interview/personality assessment follows the written stages. Preparation should cover the application profile, current affairs, communication, judgement, integrity, awareness of India and the candidate’s state/region.
